Fed Square feeds for free
A pop up restaurant at Melbourne's Federation Square hopes to serve up 365 dishes for free during the city's food and wine festival.

To do it they'll need to have 8 sittings over 2 days for one weekend only.

The Fed Square Favourites restaurant, which asks punters to vote on their favourite eats, will premiere over the opening weekend of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival in early March.

Seating times run from 10am and finish at 3.15pm on each day on the 3rd and 4th of March.

Designed by Paul Hyland of Glasshaus, the restaurant will be in the centre of the iconic Federation Square.

A sculptural steel façade anchored by nine huge Eucalyptus Maculata trees and adorned with vibrant bougainvillea, the restaurant will provide a colourful ambiance for diners to enjoy.

All diners need to do is register their vote for their favourite food online, and then to front up and reserve a booking with the event's hostess.

A menu has been chosen to best select favourite foods that Melburnians love to eat.

There's posh nosh, such as Peking duck crepes, to the ‘hot’ soft taco trend, to a good old fashioned Aussie hamburger bursting with flavor and the ubiquitous beetroot.

Even Nana will enjoy a mini ‘melt in your mouth’ pavlova complete with fresh cream and seasonal fruit.

The offer will be straight from the kitchens of Damm Fine Food and prepared fresh on the premises.
