Coffee goes retail
Italian espresso brand, Lavazza A Modo Mio, has opened two boutiques within Myer stores at Bourke St and Chadstone, both in Melbourne.
The boutiques, an Australian first for the brand, take their design aesthetics from London’s Harrods Espression coffee shop, and use red hues and geometric curves.
Lavazza business manager, Trent Knox, said the boutiques are an opportunity for Lavazza’s coffee machines to have a retail home and signals the popularity of the product.
“Our national strategy to introduce a number of boutiques is welcomed by the advent of two Melbourne boutiques and signals a very exciting period of growth for the Lavazza A Modo Mio system,” he says.
The boutiques will showcase and sell the Lavazza A Modo Mio coffee machines, Lattemento milk frothers (for cappuccino milk and babycino sippers) and the eight different Lavazza a Modo Mio capsule blends.
Bita Lowry, Myer category buyer for appliance said the department store was excited to be accomodating the new boutiques.
“We’re more than excited to welcome the colourful and energetic Lavazza boutiques to our customers. Home coffee machines are in great demand, and with such an expert team stationed at each Lavazza Boutique, our customers will receive the best advice on how to achieve quality coffee at home”.
Customers visiting the boutiques will be able to learn more about the capsule machine and its functionality, as well as sample the Lavazza blends on offer.
The boutiques will also benefit from coffee classes and celebrity chef appearances as instore theatre becomes an integral part.
