Quest for popular baristas

Australian coffee lovers are being invited to vote for their favourite barista in a competition launched by Erisant, makers of low cal sweetener, Equal.

Equal’s newly launched competition, My Coffee My Barista.

The My Coffee My Barista competition is offering more than $21,000 in prizes for baristas and voters alike, including the major National Barista Prize of a return trip for two to Italy.

                                   
             

To launch My Coffee My Barista, MasterChef series one contestant and My Coffee My Barista ambassador, Lucas Parsons, demonstrated his brewing skills on Sunday at The Rocks Aroma Festival, Sydney.

Thousands of festival goers visited the Equal stand to experience taste coffee and cast a vote for their favourite local barista.

“The bond between a barista and their customers is a unique one and our My Coffee My Barista competition provides an opportunity for café regulars to show their appreciation for that daily dedication and passion,” said Rachel Aldridge, General Manager Asia Pacific of Merisant.

To register and vote, entrants can visit the My Coffee My Barista website www.mycoffeemybarista.com before October 10, 2010.
